Brown Mustard Seeds - These are mainly used for the tempering of dahls / dalls and vegetables and they have a pungent taste. It is the main ingredient in its whole or crushed form for Indian pickles in oil.
Can also be used as a sprouting seed as follows
the mustard overnight (8 hours).
Rinse, drain and put in a germinator jar.
Repeat rinsing every 12 hours.
Sprouts will take about 5 to 7 days until they are ready.
Remove any husks by letting them float to the top of the water.
- Mustard sprouts have a very strong flavour and aroma so use with other salad leaves and sprouts.
