Perfect for a simple baked chicken or pork, just sprinkle Steenbergs Organic Sage with lemon juice or sea salt and organic pepper. Organic sage's rich strength lends itself well to many dishes, such as beef roasts, pork chops and game dishes like venison, duck and goose. Leftover turkey or chicken can be pepped up with a bit of organic rubbed sage and of course it is still a favourite used with onion, bread and other seasonings such as a stuffing in roasts

Latin Name - Salvia officinalis

Sage was a special herb in Persia, China and the Roman Empire. It was thought to be sacred and associated with long life. The botanical name comes from the Latin salvare which means to cure or save.

Sage has a robust flavour and can be used to aid digestion. It has anti-inflammatory properties as well as antiseptic qualities
